I have done significant reading about Germany in the '20's-'30s, fall of the Weimar, as research for my 2011 novel, "Smoke," which is about what was happening in Europe in 1937, beginning on the Coronation day of KIng George VI of Britain.

I have also visited the Odeonsplatz in Munich, where hitler and his gang of new thugs tried to kick-start their fascist revolution, and killed four policeman in the process.

The names of those sacrificed policemen were listed on a plaque at the Odeonsplatz, twenty or so years ago when I was standing there reading about the infamous putsch of '23.

Then I heard music wafting from somewhere. As I followed my ears, my son and I rounded a corner, out of the Square, only to discover a Jewish klesmer musical group playing enthusiatically. "Never again! was the essence of that "Bridge Ensemble", as they called themselves.

All that to say, Mike, I absolutely agree with you and value your assessment of this current situation, which is very different because we're in America now, but the dreaded sound of fascist haranguing is disruptive, frightening and existentially destructive on a national level. As for trump and his band of insurrectionists, we need to keep constant attention and Constitutional constraints on their vindictive, mislead campaign to put their yankee-style fuehrer back into the reins of power.

Never again!
