I hear you. There are serious issues of communication on our web horizon.
But "we" is a frivolous pronoun. Who is "we"?
For freedom of expression to live and thrive, we need to assure that all the we-groups and sub-groups out there continue to have a voice.
And a "unified media" is not as healthy as a multiplicity of web--and non-web--sources of opinion, relevant content, world-views and free access to channels of communication.
Freedom of speech, the press, assembly, religion, world-view etc constitute the heart and soul of our vision for a free nation and a free world.
Let us find a way to build upon that Constitutional base and broaden that liberty into the ever-widening Web.
That's just my two-cents worth.
Sofie, you keep your eyes and ears open; keep up the good work.
