I like your constructive attitude. Your last sentence emphasizes, "its our job to recognize" . . .what the Talban is doing . . .and "help the most vulnerable . . .to hang on and maintain some semblance of liberty."

This helpful attitude is constructive insofar as it takes the emphasis of of blameshifting and focuses on what humanitarian efforts we can make to help people who are desperate to find their own cultural manifestation of "liberty."

Thanks for your adding your perspective, your compassion to the chorus of criticism that now swirls around the plight of the Afghan people to find their way in the brotherhood of (Wo)Man.
