Immediately after the Crash of '08, I found a steady email stream of "demising dollar" warnings in my ebox. At that time, the projections were mostly about what currency would replace the dollar's utility and ubiquity. Most of what I saw at that time was about the SDR (special drawing rights), or the renminmi, yuan, etc.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, 14 years go by. Then, out of the fog, Vlad the Mad suddenly provokes panic across the world by initiating what might turn out to be WWIII.

Whatever happens, I think the scenario that you present here is starting to be an indicator about the features of that ghostly ship that we can see on the horizon.

And perhaps we are getting a more clear sighting of that vessel--the shape of commerce and sustenance--because of the scenario you present here.
