Indeed, Brian, this "myth of the Donald" will diminish into historical obscurity. We hope so.

I have studied, while researching my novel, "Smoke," that intrawar period between France and Germany. and I must say your nightmarish analysis rings eerily true.

At the end of the Big War, Hitler was imprisoned in France. His rage in that defeated circumstance ultimately manifested as Mein Kamph and the Third Reich.

The parallel is spooky, but indicative of the truism that history does not repeat, but rhymes. As Hitler lay defeated in a French prison, so tRump languishes, defeated, at the prison of his own making, Mar-a-Lago.

The German "stab in the back" in this presently parallel scenario is the accusation that tRump raised in anticipation of immanent events on the morning of Jan 6.

On that fateful morning, he babbled about not "lik(ing) him, (Mike Pence) as much" because he knew that, Pence is, deep down, a pricipled man, even though Mike cowered in obsequious submission during their administration.

But . . .ultimately when push, literally, came to shove, our Vice President Mike Pence did the right thing. He upheld the law. In so doing, he should at least receive some respect from the American people. If Pence had not stood for truth, justice and the American way, we would have a more dangerous situation on our hands today.

So, in the months and years ahead, the former guy will continually raise the spectre of the stab in the back that was inflicted on him and his rabid rabble Mike and all the other Republicans who did not back up his fascistic insurrection.

And yes, Brian, as you have so adroitly indicated here with your truth-telling analysis, tRump's posing as a victim of back-stabbing treachery is a manipulative accusation that he will use in the same way that Hitler did. He will sow confusion, treachery, anarchy and maybe even civil war upon a Republican party and its host country.

Let us not allow Donal tRump to impose on our nation an even bigger assault than the one we suffered on Jan.6.

Brian, keep up the vigilant work. We cannot let this nation fall prey to fascist manipulation and abuse.
