Jared, having suspected there was something fishy about the "basket of goods" item choices, I have been waiting for years to read a tell-it-like-it-is explanation.
With your analysis here, I can see I have found it.
I have, for a long time, thought it strange that those very "goods", which are the basis of household needs,
did not include the most basic items that regular folk require to keep food on the table and transportation accessible.
