Kiah, you are perceptive and your analysis is correct.

I am a college graduate living in a Red state. I live in a University town and spend lots of time writing novels, blogs and Medium comments.

I am a retired carpenter who started out as an English major graduate in 1973.

I am a Christian.

Although there is a nucleus of Blue--and I vote that way too--here in the town where Appalachian State U is located, most of the folks who grew up around here are conservative Republcans.

As a registered Republican, I bucked the Red tide and voted for Joe and Kamala.

I love to visit cities where there are lots of Blue. They are far more interesting than life in flyover country.

But I know how the "Reds" think. I have lived among them, attended church with them, worked with them.

They are good people. I love them.

But I'm here to tell ya that most of these working folk out here think of Education beyond high school and tech college--when they think of the academics . . .

"Elites."

Red people think of those slick educated people in the cities as Elites.

Yep, there's a difference allright.

And guess what. The Democratic Party's agenda is driven by, mostly, those educated, academic elites.

That's just the way it is in America in 2020.

Thanks for posting your analysis on Medium. Keep up the good work.
