Let us not forget that after their Revolution, the cadres who had taken over France fell into their own dissentions and ultimately chaos, which was ultimately diverted to military conquest conducted by an authoritarian, Napolean Bonaparte.

What we Americans are currently enduring is a scaled-down version of our own civil war, which was fought because our Constitution failed to properly guarantee the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness to all humans.

But now, since we have managed to eject the biggest threat--the trumpian one-- threatening our peace and safety . . .

Maybe now that the bully is out of the way, we can find the time, and the common ground, the shared space (of city and country)

to conduct real, untwittered conversation . . . true debate . . .

And we have a fairly obvious common cause to which both sides can be brought for a constructive debate on how we should find agreement--which I believe there is on both sides--to pass a Constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College.

Because. . . after all we've been through, is there still anyone in these United States who wants to retain that relic of 18th-century half-ass governance?

Oh, and btw, Anthony, thanks for sharing your perspective on Medium.

There is no better platform than Medium for discussion of our present issues.

But it would be risky; we would not want Medium to end up like FB, with the worst (of our times) contending so fiercely with the best (of our times) that Medium would end up like FB.
