My American dream, as a still-registered Republican, is that . . . with trump watching from a jail cell, the GOP will experience a flash of reality check and they will come to their senses as they contemplate the prospect: Why in the hell are we even considering a jailbird nominee who threatened his own vice president and committed several felonies while doing so? And then. . . and then. . . they will nominate Mike Pence, who did the right thing at the right time when it mattered most! (and lived to tell about it)

But hey, I am not a totally starry-eyed dreamer. How about this: they turn to Chris Christie, whose voice was the the moist convincing during that season of trump's sorcery in '21. . . better yet. . . go back to old-school:
