Not to mention . . . Louie Armstrong. (I'm from Louisiana) My theory is that jazz started with Louie in N'Awlins, then worked its way up through St. Louis, Chicago, and overland to New Yawk and . . . Cotton Club! Why d'yua thnk they named it after "Cotton"?!

. . . toted up from the Deep South, was it not? Jazz via Louie.
