Thank you, Umair, for your admonition.

I'm just over the line in North Carolina, but I was raised in the Deep South.

Based on your assessment, the prospect of our nation recovering from this trump/youngkin tide of racism is not very likely.

After President Obama, I had hoped that we, as a nation, could do better than what we are seeing come to the surface again now.

If we are ever going to renew the appamatox moment and effectively build a society a that is free of racism, we need to make some changes.

If, as it now seems, the racists are not going to change or get out of the way, then advocates for racial reconciliation need to form a new strategy.

And I know this: "critical race theory" is not working to make this change. Whatever that theory is, it is severely misunderstood. Perhaps that doctrine can be retained, but it is obviously not working when too many honkies think that it is being crammed down their children's throats at school.

I recommend a biblical approach. People ought to read and teach the sermon on the mount, and Matthew 25, spoken by Jesus long ago.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, and those people who mourn for the hateful sins of our species. Blessed are the gently, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are the merciful.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you . . .
