Thanks, B, for sharing your saga and your thoughts.

As an older guy, having progeny who are your age, I empathize. I do find empathy in my perspective as a boomer, in whose generation we thought for a while that we could solve the problems of our nation or even our world.

My conclusion, in 70 years as an earth-dweller: Find someone to love, and partner with. And if you have a kid or two, do the best you can to assure they have a purposeful life to live, even as an unsure life such as you now are now navigating.

Bottom line: Love is the answer.
