I visited the site several years ago. I remember reading something about that damage to the Parthenon. I think I assumed the damage to be the result of some ancient battle.

Now I know what really happened.

You, Grant, are indeed the bearer of bad news, reporting this damage as a result of modern warfare.

But I do appreciate knowing the real story of what happened there.

Unfortunately, we modern homo sapiens are capable of using our impressive technologies to destroy our ancient landmarks, along with our climate and our dignity and God-only-knows what else before this whole damn world gets blown apart like Athenian smithereens.
