That whole Nazi Germany historical episode was a lesson and a warning for the entire world.

In the USA, we were, last year, on the verge of descending into fascist tyranny, but we defeated that threat at the ballot box.

There has been a lot of controversy in recent years about so-called American "exceptionalism."

This last election has demonstrated that, if there is anything exceptional about these United States, it is that we defeated fascism at the ballot box. We managed to do, by democratic means, what the Germans of the 1930's failed to do--turned back the fascist tide.

And let us not forget that! Talk about the " learning from the lessons of history" We succeeded in defeating fascism whereas the 1930's Germans failed to identify the enemy and thereby failed to defeat that enemy at the ballot box.

This is the authentic American "exceptionalism." We are a free people and we will not stand for an authoritarian dictator!
