This is a great idea for a post on Medium, and your list of essential elements is very well done.

I was thinking of a good plot idea. How about:

A good ole boy from the country steps outside his expected role as a carpenter.

He hits the road, goes to the big city, comes up with a new way of interpreting all the classic literature, gets in trouble with the Establishment, being widely misunderstood by both the indigenous cultural gatekeepers and the bully empire-builders who like to keep the natives on a short leash. . . surrounds himself with a bunch of unknown yayhoos from the outback, hangs out with a bunch of low'lifes, goes around doing amazing feats and healings without charging anything, talks back to the authorities instead of defending himself, gets passed around between the powers-that-be, ends up catching a guilty sentence for God-only-knows what crime, gets convicted based on false testimony and a rigged judicial system, receives a death sentence and gets executed in a public display of blood and gore, suffers a criminal death, pops out of the tomb after three days.

Here's a guy who broke all the rules of political correctness, suffered a criminal death and then . . .

and then lived to tell about it.

What'dya think? You think this plot will catch a few readers, maybe even make the Not.Yo.Typical best-sellers list?
