This is an informative report, Edward. Thanks for sharing it.

My feeling is that the idea of a loosely federal union would have been a productive one, if it had been allowed to survive.

Your mention of the Vermont independence is interesting and quaint.

As a southerner, I will remind you that the so-called "Solid South" already tried that Sovereign and Independent arrangement. It did not work out.

Furthermore, and sorry to say, Edward, 20th and 21st events on a belligerantly global scale have propelled our "Federal" .gov into gearing our nation up militarily and culturally as an apparently indestructible megalith.

Unless, the invisible enemy of Covid provokes a flood of political "distancing."

On a brighter note, I admire our Governors who are taking seriously their responwibilities to utilize the 50 state frameworks for monitoring and defeating the Covid.

And I encourage those Governors to take full advantage of their legally granted powers, instead of allowing the guy in the white house to call the shots, even though he thinks he can.

The Governors need to stand up to Trump. The can start by demanding that he withdraw his militias from American cities.
