This is true, Jessica. Thanks for pulling this awareness out of the fog of our Cloud.

In former ages, Karl and Fred came up with the idea of common folk taking over the means of production. The plan made good sense for awhile until some cruel taskmasters got hold of it and screwed up.

What your ideas seems to indicate is common folk taking over the means of governing.

It's not a bad idea, as long the advocates of such a strategy don't get too uppity about it and resort to the repressions that our capitalist forebears did.

But here's a little suggestion from a 40-year carpenter who started as a useless English major.

Marriage. I, the literary carpenter in union with my late-blooming ICU nurse didn't do too badly raising our three kids in the midst of this present deteriorating capitalist system.

The other beneficial component of our success was membership in a small, local group of like-minded believers whose value system is now being questioned severely by a judgemental world.

Two in One makes a good combination for any couple who want to give it a longterm try.
