Well gollee, John, what an outlandish presentation you have here. A lotta shock value.

Once upon a time. . . upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore . . . I wrote a novel, King of Soul, in which a cameo character who happens to be hitchiker in Tennessee manifests the primary character in Edgar Allen's "Descent into a Maelstrom" in which the great whirling manifestation of a quaint and curious whirlpool is brought forth as a metaphor manifestation of our descent into the Vietnam War . . . oh but you'll have to read the book to discover the mystery of the Maelstrom.

As for Edgar. . . his art turns out to be a tell-tale heart, all sound and furious beating signifying nothing. . . only this and nothing more. Quoth the Raven: Nevermore!
