Yes, Gary, it does seem like a bad dream. But history testifies that sh-t does indeed happen. It happened in Italy in the 1920's under Mussolini, and in the '30's under . . . you know who.

This situation will force moderates like me to rejoin the Democrat party, which I left, back in thje 1980's.

But I am no Republican now. I have been writing to people that we should start a moderate party, but that is probably just a fantasy.

At least, if enough former Republicans such as I join the Democrats there will be enough of us moderates to prevent the Dems from drifting too far leftward into communism.
