Looking back a couple of millenia, the original apocalypt was a prisoner of the roman empire on the isle of Patmos.

Early in his life, John had been a companion of Jesus, who spoke urgent warnings about the destructive fatality of human enterprise. He taught that love is the highest virtue. Love your neighbor; even love your enemies. Feed those who are hungry; clothe those who are hungry; visit prisoners; shelter those who are without; befriend widows and orphans and send to him the weary huddled masses who yearn to be free.

Jesus was a poor prophet whose carbon footprint was minimal. His fatally unjust execution was, however merely a gospelic prerequisite to the resurrection that ensued three days later, if you can believe that.

I do.

Years later, he sent the apolyptic vision and message to his dear friend John. Events in John's terribly prescient document are indeed unwinding today, with disastrous results, with the outcome being . . .
